This is the World Wide Web site of the Libertarian Party, the third largest
political party in the United States.
History and Acknowledgments
This site was first made available to the public on 12 May 1994, and was the
first WWW site established by any political party.
The site would not have been possible without the tireless 6-year effort of
Joseph W. Dehn III,
LP and National Committee member, activist, and candidate for political office in
California. Mr. Dehn single-handedly created the original site, and collected,
archived and maintained over the years the vast content that is at the heart of this site.
In 2000, www.LP.org was overhauled, redesigned and re-launched under the
direction of the Libertarian National Committee, the Libertarian Party National
Headquarters and with the assistance and support of KIA
Internet Solutions, Inc.
Other LP Sites
Reflecting the federal structure of the U.S. political system, the LP has a
national organization as well as affiliate organizations in all 50 states and
the District of Columbia. Most of these affiliate parties have
WWW sites of their own.
